AT&T Learning Network Resources for Educators
AT& T offers an online mentoring program that helps teachers use technology efficiently.

Berit's Best Sites for Children
Berit Erickson, a librarian, has compiled over 1000 websites just for children. She began this worthwhile endeavor in 1994 when the Theodore Tugboat activity center was first initiated.

Cable in the Classroom
Information is provided on various television shows on cable that could be integrated into the classroom.

Columbia Guide to Online Style
In this article, Janice R. Walker and Todd Taylor provide online citation rules as well as complete guidelines for formatting documents for online publication and electronic preparation of texts for print publication.

Computer as Learning Partner
University at California, Berkley, research project where a wired classroom is used by eighth-graders as they are taught the physical science topics of heat, light, and sound.

Cybertimes (from the New York Times)
The technology section of the New York Times contains late-breaking news on technology and its impact on culture, education, etc. Site requires free registration.

David Levin's Learning@Web.Sites
This guide is for those high school teachers who wish to enhance their instruction with Internet resources. There are 19 different departments, each with valuable resources for teachers.

Detwiler Foundation
Offering a computers-for-school program, the Detwiler Foundation accepts donated computers and places them in classrooms.

EdWeb: Exploring Technology and School Reform With EdWeb, you can hunt down online educational resources around the world, learn about trends in education policy and information infrastructure development, examine success stories of computers in the classroom, and much, much more.

Electronic Collaboration
The National School Network has put together (and put online) this guide, Electronic Collaboration: A Practical Guide for Educators. The guide is for everyone in education who is interested in this emerging technology.

Published quarterly as a print and online supplement to The American School Board Journal, this is an excellent magazine site that provides full text articles and information for and about the wired school.

eSchool News online
A weekly online magazine detailing the latest news in technology/education. This is companion site that advertises their print publication, but still worthwhile.

From Now On-The Educational Technology Journal
Free online journal devoted to educational technology issues. Even though the design is somewhat bare, the lengthy, informative issues highlight this journal as one of the better ones on the Internet.

Global Schoolhouse
Presented by the Global SchoolNet Foundation, this site features The Connected Educator, The Connected Classroom, and The Connected Learning Community.

Harnessing the Power of the Web: A Tutorial
A great site devoted to the Internet in the classroom, creating collaborate Web projects, and much more. Intended more for secondary education, this tutorial provides step-by-step instructions (and lessons) to using the Web for education.

Horizon
This site provides a meeting place for educators interested in technology issues. Also available are articles about educational technology research.

How to Do Research on the Internet
This online tutorial, created by the library at Monash University, provides fourteen topics on how to use the Internet effectively for research.

Intel in Education
This site offers resources for teachers wishing to integrate technology into their classroom. There are also lessons on how a computer works and how various parts of the computer are made.

Internet Public Library
This site features online lessons covering the Internet and other areas and contains a wide array of resources for students and teachers.

Learning on the Web
Divided into 6 modules, this site from Canada takes the teacher from novice to expert in creating online education resources.

Netday National
The Netday site describes the efforts to get every school in the U.S. wired for Internet access.

Reinventing Schools
From the National Academies of Science and Engineering, comes this companion Web site to the historic convocation that sought to inform the technology/education debate by "laying out a vision of what could be."

Road Map
Roadmap96 is a free, 27-lesson Internet training workshop designed to teach new Net travelers how to travel around the rapidly expanding (and often confusing) "Information Superhighway" without getting lost. Very informative!

Space Day
A site seeking to integrate the Internet into secondary science education. Features lesson plans, Virtual field trips, and teacher discussion groups. One of the best technology-based teaching sites!

SuperKids Educational Software Review
SuperKids offers very detailed educational software reviews. The software is rated based on ease of installation, educational value, and kid appeal. Very useful.

Tales from the Electronic Frontier
This site presents the writings of ten teachers who share actual classroom experiences using the Internet in K-12 science and mathematics.

Teaching & Learning on the WWW
A searchable archive of more than 600 examples of how the World Wide Web is being used as a medium for learning.

Teaching Technology
Lots of information about technology in the classroom, including new and archived articles, grant information, and a lot more can be found here.

TeachNet.org offers teacher-designed projects and activities that incorporate technology.

Tech.edu

The online version of the magazine presents hundreds of software and Web site reviews. Also includes articles on how to integrate technology into the curriculum.

Found here is news on the world of computers and related technologies, focusing on applications that improve teaching and learning for all ages.

From the Mid-continent Regional Educational Laboratory, this site offers articles on Internet safety, the impact of technology, and technology and teacher education.

Think Quest
Think Quest, a nonprofit organization, sponsors contests that challenge learners of all ages to create high-quality, innovative, and content-rich Web sites.

U.S. Kids Compute
Presented by the Learning Company, U.S. Kids Compute is a program which donates Dr. Suess-type multimedia to more than 200 communities.

Web 66-A K-12 World Wide Web Project
This highly-awarded site has three main goals: (1) to help K-12 educators learn how to set up their own Internet servers.

Web Developers Virtual Library
This is an indispensable site when you are trying to get that first home page up and running.

WebQuest
A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web.

webTeacher
A good introductory tutorial to the web for new webmasters. Covers most of the topics people need to get started.

World Wide Web Workbook
This is a primer for a person new to the Web. It is appropriate for teachers and students and does an excellent job of covering the basics.

Writing HTML
Learn to write your own home page by following this tutorial. The lessons are also available offline.
