Choose a Mystery to Solve

Go to http://kids.MysteryNet.com/solveit/

Read and try to solve some of these mystery cases. Then do the following activity.

1) Get a piece of large manila drawing paper. Make a hamburger fold, and on the outside, write the title of the mystery you chose using proper capitalization rules.

2) On the inside, write the problem to solve as a question, i.e. "Which football player pulled ten rose bushes from Coach Thornton's yard?"

3) On the back of the folded paper, draw a picture of the solution to the case.

4) Print your name, grade and date on the back as well.

Go to http://www.mysterynet.com/learn/

1) Click on "Lesson Plans and Ideas".

2) Click on "Mystery Vocabulary".

3) At the bottom of the page, click on "Go To Mystery Vocabulary Worksheet".

4) Print out the Mystery Vocabulary Worksheet. After reading the new words & meanings, highlight the new words.

5) Three-hole punch the paper and add to the Glossary section in your binder.
