Animal HyperStudio Project

The goal of this project is to learn some basic research skills to gain information about one animal that lives in Florida, and to learn, use, and practice basic computer skills to create a multi-media presentation.

Students need to do research to find information about their assigned animal and then create 7 notecards that includes this data. Once the cards are handwritten, students will enter the information into the HyperStudio program and add photographs, drawings, sound, animation and other graphics.

Some students may want to complete portions of this project at home. You are welcome to help your child find interesting information. Please remember, though, that brief, interesting facts will display best.

We will be going to the Computer Lab and working on our classroom computers to complete these projects. Students will have some class time to work on their research (mostly gathering Internet information) but may need to complete some of the notecards at home using either encyclopedias or research information that has been copied from the Internet. The aim is to have all projects finished by Friday, May 26, 2000.

When we have finished, we will have a day to share the projects with YOU! It's a new experience for all of us. Have patience and have fun! We will all learn together!
Parents, if you have the time and desire to learn more about the HyperStudio Program, you are welcome to come in when we are learning how to use it! Let me know if you are interested, and I will send home the dates and times when I am going to introduce the basics to the class.
